When Raul Rosas Jr. entered Las Vegas’s T-Mobile Arena on Dec 10, he made history as was predicted from the start. Making his UFC debut on the last numbered event of the year 2022, UFC 282: Blachowicz vs. Ankalaev, he became the youngest fighter in the promotion’s long history. While the Saturday night event provided fighters a path to glory and a rise in the rankings, it offered the American fighter a shot at history, which he successfully grabbed with a victory on his debut against Jay Perrin.

Notably, in the prelims closing fighter, both bantamweight fighters engaged in a fight Rosas Jr. put on a dominating display. Further, he gave a glimpse into the future as he scored a victory via neck crank submission in round 1.
What happened in the fight at UFC 282?
The 18-year-old fighter put the initial pressure on and effectively used his feet. Further, the perfect 6-0 record holder took ‘The Joker’ down with a takedown with only a minute on the clock and stuck to his back as glue. Later on, ‘El Niño Problemo’ got on his back and jay struggled to get out of the young kid’s grip.
Rosas Jr. attempted the body triangle choke while he hung on the Syndicate MMA team representative’s back and controlled the choke. While the 29-year-old fighter tried to shake off Rosas Jr. but failed to shrug off the determined young fighter on rising.
With a flawless outing and without absorbing any strikes, Rosas made quick work of his opponent. Therefore, with a submission win over the 10-6 record holder, he announced himself on the UFC stage.

Markedly, in the post-fight cage interview with Joe Rogan, he demanded the “50 Gs” as a bonus from the UFC president Dana White.
Further, Rosas Jr. declared himself to become the next UFC champion.
