Bryce Mitchell has a lot of respect for Josh Emmett and Joe Rogan after the fight at UFC 296. Emmet delivered a brutal blow in the very first round. After Mitchell fell to the ground, the medic team as well as Dana White rushed to the arena to check on the status of the fighter. Joe Rogan who was a part of the broadcasting team yelled at the officials to not let Mitchell stand because he could injure himself much more.
Things settled down and Mitchell was rushed to the hospital. Now days after the event has unfolded. Mitchell has issued a statement thanking both Emmet and Rogan for their assessment. The fighter took to his Instagram handle to issue a thank you note. “You know got a lot of work left to do but that’s what I’m up to. But I wanted to let y’all know that I am so happy with Josh Emmett. Because right after he knocked me out, he could have followed up with the hammer fist and it probably would have killed me.” He didn’t even follow up with anything. He was just happy with his knockout and he walked away. I’m so grateful for that. I will forever remember that. I love that whole team. That Alpha Male team, I love every single one of you guys. Thank you for not hitting” said Mitchell
He further added ” I wanna thank Joe Rogan. God bless you, Joe Rogan. Thank you so much for what you said after that fight. You took command of that microphone and said, “Do not let Mitchell stand,” and you were right, Joe. I was totally out of it. I can’t remember anything after they sat me down.”

During UFC 296, it wasn’t the sole occasion when Joe Rogan expressed frustration towards UFC officials. In March of this year, Rogan called on the referee to halt the fight as one of the fighters had lost their mouthpiece. During the UFC 285 bout between Shavkat Rakhmonov and Geoff Neal, Rakhmonov’s mouthpiece fell out, but Herb Dean, the referee, couldn’t see it and allowed the fight to continue. Rogan, regardless, interrupted mid-match to alert Dean about the mouthpiece, suggesting it would be better to pause the fight momentarily. At that time Rogan was furious and directed toward Dean to stop the fight.
Likewise, during the UFC 251 bout between Jose Aldo and Petr Yan, Rogan yelled at the UFC officials to stop the fight as Aldo was taking such hits from Yan which could be highly risky for his life. Rogan screamed at the referee and told him to stop the fight before anything happened to Aldo.
