Despite the setback, Jedrzejczyk found a sense of calmness and acceptance. Ex-UFC champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk’s startling revelation on her promotional return

‘The Boogeyman’ voiced her desire to give herself another chance in the Octagon via an interview with MMAJunkie. But her plans were halted due to a recurring shoulder injury. Despite her intense training regimen and the eagerness to stage a comeback, the 35-year-old’s hopes were shattered when her old shoulder injury resurfaced.

In the same vein, she added, “I was training really hard for – two – three times a day for 13 weeks. Everyone was asking if I was coming back and coming out of retirement. [And] honestly – I wanted to be back – I wanted to give myself one more chance.” However, amid this disappointment, the former champ found a sense of calmness in her heart and soul.

She further added, “I got really sad. Very emotional. But I got calmness in my heart and soul. It’s what I was looking for, for eight months after I retired.” With this calmness, she now finds herself in a different place, mentally and emotionally. The relentless pursuit of making a comeback is no longer consuming her thoughts and actions.

However, it looks like she has, for now, pulled the plug on her comeback.

But she has hinted at a comeback if she recovers within the year. Adding to her views, she remarked, “I want to fight ADCC…The thing is, this is such a difficult sport – you have to dedicate so much… I have so many passions outside of MMA, but you can’t compare it to being a fighter.
