With a record of 6 wins and no losses in her professional MMA career, Cong didn’t fail to excite the fight fans with her UFC debut fight. Within the first minute of the first round, the Chinese women’s flyweight prospect sent forth a strong right jab that sent Leonardo into the realm of the shadows and hit the canvas. The referee in charge of the fight, Chris Tognoni rushed in to conclude the fight and raised Cong’s hand with the win.

Right after her first victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Cong took to Instagram and shared a picture of the cherished Detective Comics villain, the Joker. This is indeed a reference to her moniker. In the caption, she put forth a demand for a Performance of the Night bonus. She wrote, “Wake up and find out there is no POTN. Next fight you will see more spectacular finish @ufc . Don’t play with Joker again!”

But little did she know that the UFC head honcho would let her have the well-deserved bonus. The fight left Dana White awestruck, even though he wasn’t at the venue during the event. Taking to the comments section of the IG post, White wrote, “I was out of town and watched the fight @mystiqueboston on TV. You looked AMAZING. I’m adding another PON bonus for u. Congrats u get 50k.”

Without a doubt, White’s act sent ‘The Joker’ in a moment of immense joy. She went on and sent a heartfelt message to the UFC bossman and wrote, “I love you Dana,” followed by a few heart-eyed emojis.

Can ‘The Joker’ defeat Valentina Shevchenko?

Cong, during her kickboxing days in 2015, had faced Shevchenko in a kickboxing bout. But it wasn’t the Russian-Ukrainian fighter who won. And when the fighting community pinched the two once again, the Chinese fighter expressed her confidence in a post-fight press conference.

Cong said, “You guys only know I beat Shevchenko in kickboxing. But you don’t know I’m a sambo world champion, a boxing world champion, and a kickboxing world champion. I think comparing Valentina Shevchenko to me is that she has more experience. But I took some time to compete in boxing. I believe my striking is better than her. … If she takes the fight, (I can beat her) any time.”

Cong further proceeded to commend Shevchenko’s strength. Weighing in on her next fight with Alexa Grasso at the co-main event of UFC 306. The Chinese fighter was pretty sure that Shevchenko would take the fight to Grasso once again and rise victorious.
