There is a saying that many would know, it says ‘never underestimate someone just because of their size’. Some of us have often heard stories of big, powerful individuals being taken out by their considerably tiny rivals. There are also a lot of iterations supporting this moral view, with David and Goliath’s fight probably being the most noted one. Also, a recent combat sports incident showcased that things work pretty much the same way even in the modern world.

The noted MMA referee, Mike Beltrán, took to Instagram of late to share a video supporting the same narrative. He posted a video of a visibly larger-sized fighter getting flatlined by his opponent with a much smaller physique. The video appeared to be a bit aged, but it clearly portrayed the intended message. It also garnered a lot of reactions and comments from Beltrán‘s followers and other combat sports fans on Instagram.

Apart from the MMA fans and other users, Beltrán himself was apparently pleased with the video entirely. It showcased Florin Lupu, a short-statured fighter from Romania with a height of 4 feet and 11 inches, scoring a brutal knockout over his taller and larger opponent.

Beltran captioned his post, “Wow, never under estimate anyone due to someone’s size or statue. Not saying this was the case here, however the shorter boxer believed in himself and proved it. I hope his opponent is ok after that KO. However, something to think about. Sometimes best things come in small packages.”

A lot of fans might agree that Beltran‘s unusually long caption spoke volumes about his liking for the video. Being a referee, it was evident that he was also a fan of combat sports.

Additionally, the wholesome moral portrayed by the video was also probably loved by Beltrán.

The superb knockout scored by Florin Lupu impressed fans

A lot of MMA fans and other users reverberated with the morale that was portrayed by the video. Also, the superb knockout punch from Lupu had the taller fighter’s gum guard flying out his mouth. Some fans even mistook it for the taller fighter losing out a tooth. Others compared Lupu to the noted ‘short’ UFC Champion, Alexander Volkanovski.
