Poirier also shared his thoughts on fighter pay and whether the UFC compensates him fairly. He said, “My last fight, I believe, has been the closest to proper compensation, for just the years that I’ve put in and what I’ve done. I’m on the right track, Ariel, I’m moving in the right direction.”

Throughout his long journey to the top, Poirier has learnt many important lessons. Elaborating on that he said, “As you fight, things change in your life priorities change and I’m just trying to set my family up, set myself up for the best life possible through fighting and through business opportunities and I think I’m heading in the right direction you know.”
