During the time they were a part of The Ultimate Fighter, Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen had genuine animosity towards each other. We often saw the pair being at each other’s throats and taking various digs at each other. However, this wasn’t always the case, as Sonnen and Silva did not hate each other before 2010.

The hatred began back in 2010 when while leading up to his fight with Anderson Silva, Sonnen made some questionable remarks about Brazil. Naturally, ‘The Axe Murderer’ was upset because of these remarks and thus started this rivalry which would go on for years.

The dislike that these fighters shared for each other was quite evident during The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3. Sonnen and Silva were coaching at The Ultimate Fighter Brazil event and were also expected to fight later that year. However, that would not happen as the rivalry between Sonnen and Silva became physical much before that.
