Although former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is not one of the best trash talkers of his time, he has had his fair share on the mic. And many times, the undefeated fighter has been unintentionally funny.

With a perfect record of 29-0, ‘The Eagle’ is one of the greatest lightweight fighters to ever grace the UFC octagon. The UFC fans will surely remember his dominance inside the cage. However, along with his wins, one thing that the fans will certainly talk about is his savage mic skills.

At times, the undefeated fighter has delivered befitting replies to his opponents on the mic. He also gave some good one-liners during his interviews that have become iconic in the sport’s history.

One such example was his first-ever post-fight interview, where ‘The Eagle’ gave a savage two-word reaction to his wins and made the crowd burst into laughter.

In 2008, in his second professional MMA bout, the Dagestan native defeated Magomed Magomedov via a unanimous decision. It was a Pankration (ancient Greek MMA) tournament in Moscow that Nurmagomedov won.

After the victory, the announcer asked the winner, Nurmagomedov, to speak a few words and gave him the mic. However, ‘The Eagle’ got a bit shy in his first post-fight interview and just said, “Salam Aleykum” which means peace to you in Arabic.

This made everyone in the audience burst into laughter. Later, young Nurmagomedov returned the mic and left with his trophy amidst the fans’ cheers and claps.
