Tanner Boser earned a second-round T/KO finish over Ovince Saint Preux at the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Gane vs Volkov. However, there were some controversies involved in it as well. At first look, it seemed like ‘The Bulldozer’ grabbed a hold of the Octagon fence before finishing Saint Preux.
But, the replays confirmed that the finish was actually legit and there shouldn’t have been any controversy about it. There was a significant clash of heads between the two heavyweights, though. The sound of the clash was audible for the viewers on the television as well.

With his win, Boser has managed to put an end to his two-fight skid in the UFC. Back-to-back losses to Andrei Arlovski and Ilir Latifi meant that the fight against OSP was almost a must-win for the Canadian.

Saint Preux, on the other hand, has now lost two in a row. Jamahal Hill knocked him out in his last fight at the light-heavyweight division. Unfortunately, as his return to the heavyweight division didn’t go to plan as well, he has a 40% record in his last 5 fights inside the UFC Octagon.
Very hard to tell if Tanner Grabbed the fence on second look. Seemed like he did initially but after rewatching it looked like he closed hand. But still not certain! Either way massive win for Boser!

The finish puzzled experts like Daniel Cormier as well. However, the former UFC dual champion claimed that it was a massive win for Boser.

Boser is a great prospect of the heavyweight division. And at only 29, he has lots of room for growth. His win against an established opponent like Saint Preux further proves his quality as a fighter. Hence, he should expect to face an opponent from the division’s upper echelon after tonight.
Saint Preux, on the other hand, has looked very sloppy in his recent fights. And at 38, the chances of him recovering are slim to none. He doesn’t possess the power in his trikes anymore and his chin has become a suspect as well. Now, it remains to be seen if this was the final act of his UFC career.
