The pre-fight conference of UFC 269 concluded earlier today. Although Oliveira vs. Poirier is the main event on Saturday, it was Sean O’Malley and Cody Garbrandt who stole the thunder of the event.
No, the two fighters are not fighting each other at UFC 269, but by the looks of their actions at the press conference, someone might think that is exactly what’s going down.

At the moment, Sean O’Malley is taking on Raulian Paiva in a bantamweight bout, whereas ‘No Love’ isn’t even in the same division as O’Malley anymore. The former Bantamweight division champion will take on Kai Kara-France in his Flyweight division debut.
Things got in motion when a reporter asked Garbrandt for his opinion on ‘Sugar’, to which the 30-year-old replied in a crass manner. The fighters got involved in a back and forth that led O’Malley to call out ‘No love’ in his distinct style.
He said, “Let’s just square up a little bit for the fans, let’s just square up. Dana, can me and Cody just square up for the future?”

After hearing this, Garbrandt got and up headed towards O’Malley. ‘Sugar’ also left his seat and confronted ‘No Love.’ Security rushed the stage and restricted the two fighters on Dana White’s instruction.
How did the enmity between Sean O’Malley and Cody Garbrandt begin?
It was the first time that the two fighters came face to face in a serious altercation. But today wasn’t the start of the friction between the two superstars.
‘No Love’ and ‘Sugar’ have been going at it for a couple of years now. They leave no chance to take shots at each other on social media.
After moving to the Flyweight division Garbrandt (12-4) posted a photo of an injured Sean O’Malley(14-1) with a caption “Don’t worry Suga I’ll be back after I grab this strap, maybe you’ll be in the top 15 by then ?? 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️,”
It was in response to a tweet by ‘Sugar’ wrote, read “Jakepaul prob knock you out”

A fight between these two strikers is sure to grab a lot of eyeballs. O’Malley, with his discrete personality, is an asset for the UFC. Meanwhile, ‘No Love’ is a champion with a lot more left in it.
