Nate Diaz fought Leon Edwards in a 5-round welterweight contest at UFC 263. Diaz lost the decision; however, the last minute of the fight was perhaps the most entertaining part. Diaz landed a slap and punch combo on Edwards, which rocked ‘Rocky’. The Stockton native was very close to finishing the fight, but time wasn’t on his side.
Nevertheless, Diaz managed to win over the fans despite his loss. This fight was a statement from him that he can still hang in there with the very best fighters. Also, his toughness was on full display as Edwards battered him throughout the contest but couldn’t manage to get him out.
Diaz recently shared a video on his YouTube channel of him making his way to the UFC 263 weigh-ins. The Stockton native can be seen rolling in with his crew. Nate and his brother Nick embraced Demian Maia as they arrived for the UFC 263 ceremonial weigh-ins. Maia was also fighting on the same card, just before Diaz.

Despite his loss, Diaz managed to raise his stock at UFC 263, so he can be expected to face a big name upon his return to the Octagon. And with Diaz, every fight is a big fight.
The Stockton native was tipped to fight at lightweight by many as they believed his frame is a bit small for the 170 lbs division. However, he hasn’t competed in the 155 lbs division since his win against Michael Johnson. And given his age, it looks unlikely that he will put that taxation on his body to make that extra weight cut. So fans might expect to see Diaz fight at welterweight in the near future.
