Video: Nasty Headkick “Right in the Mouth” Leaves Fans Praying for MMA Fighter

The UFC often delivers unimaginably brutal matches and KOs. Fans, when looking for some really barbaric exchanges, can always count on the UFC to provide. However, there are other MMA promotions and events where fans might get to see some incredible fights, and maybe, a knockout of the year as well.

A video of an MMA knockout has been doing the rounds on Twitter. However, it is not a clip from a UFC fight – or even from Bellator MMA. The clip is from Octagon 47, an event of the Eurasian Fighting League, Octagon League. The two fighters are engaged in a hefty battle and the video ends on a real ‘cold’ note.

Straight to the head – Fans React to ‘Cold’ head-kick Knockout

MMA is a sport where unpredictability prevails. Landing one critical shot on your opponent can end the match real quick. Something similar happened in the Octagon League clip that has gone viral on YouTube.

In the video, professional MMA fighter Shokhasan Mirzamatov knocked out Akbar Azadi Far with a clean and powerful side-kick to the head. Azadi Far, apparently, was diving for Mirzamatov’s feet to secure a takedown. However, he was stopped ‘cold’ in his tracks as the kick knocked him out for good. Mirzamatov was then seen walking away.

Fans were amazed to see this impressive head kick and started commenting.

Some fans just couldn’t help but talk about the kick that dropped Azadi Far.

Others didn’t have to see the complete fight to know that Azadi Far was ‘far’ from recovering after that nasty head kick. They knew it was ‘game over’.

One fan was amused by the ‘cool’ Mirzamatov’ walk-off after the swift knockout.

Some fans realized that Azadi Far was actually aiming for a takedown, but bad luck and timing got the best of him.

One UFC fan compared this K.O. clip to the infamous UFC 17 knockout of UFC Legend Mark Coleman. The knockout, quite similar to the Octagon 47 K.O., was delivered by Pete Williams.

The kick packed enough punch to knock out any fighter and the fans, although amused, seemed somewhat concerned for Azadi Far.

The event (Octagon 47) featured some really good fights as well. The main fight card was a lightweight bout between Mauricio Machado and Adil Boranbayev.

Octagon 47 – The next big MMA event by…?

The UFC is definitely one of the most prominent players in the MMA market. However, there are other promotions and events where promising young fighters are competing and trying to make a name for themselves.

Octagon 47 is an event hosted by Octagon Promotion. The promotion has hosted around 59 events so far. Headquartered in Kazakhstan, the promotion is owned by Nuraddin Sadykov and has put on some really great MMA matches so far. Shokhasan Mirzamatov and Akbar Azadi Far are only a few of the many names associated with this promotion.
