Two fighters training together in the combat sports world is not a surprising thing. Teammates turning into rivals and some of them being lifelong comrades is something that, although not unexpected, doesn’t happen that often. Khamzat Chimaev and Darren Till might just be the duo we need. As they are not rivals nor teammates, their relationship is just something else.
In a recent training video posted by @vukojemma on Instagram, Chimaev and Till appeared to be training together in an intense yet friendly environment.

During their training, Chimaev makes a funny comment about Till to push his fitness limits. “Come on, fat boy!” exclaimed Chimaev.
After all, Darren Till and Khamzat Chimaev are highly entertaining personalities in their own right. This might be one of the most entertaining shows of camaraderie we might see for the next few years in the UFC.

Khamzat Chimaev and Darren Till: How did that happen?
Those that were wholly blindsided to see these two individuals training together might have been off their social media bandwagons. Chimaev x Till might not be that surprising after all.
On an Instagram live, Chimaev joked that he would “smash” Till if they ever fought. For context, this happened a few months into 2021.
Fast forward to after Chimaev winning his fight against Li Jingliang at UFC 267, Till agreed to train with Khamzat for his next professional fight.
Why ‘The Gorilla’ needs to train with ‘Borz’?
Darren Till is one of the most hyped fighters in the UFC. With his iconic accent, skillful performances, and overall charisma, he’s been one of the most anticipated fighters to watch over and over again.
Till’s career and personal life have not always been smooth. Many injuries have plagued him throughout, with direct reference to his career. To make matters worse, inactivity and sidelining in recent times have led to him putting on a lot of fat.
Meanwhile, Khamzat Chimaev has been cited to be one of the most hardworking and explosive fighters in the UFC today. Former top light-heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafsson stated that Chimaev spends most of his time at the gym and does close to five sessions a day.
Thus, ‘Borz’ might be the right individual to push Till to reach his potential.

Darren Till never fails to showcase his champion’s heart, despite all his ups and downs. With the season picking up, ‘The Gorilla’ said that the UFC offered him a fight against Sean Strickland fight, which would make perfect sense to put these two together while Jared Cannonier fights Israel Adesanya for the middleweight title.
