The rivalry between legendary heavyweight fighter Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones is one that has been immortalized in the UFC. Both the top-class fighters were at each other’s throats in the second half of the previous decade. Even though ‘DC’ was unable to sneak a victory against ‘Bones’, he sure made a lot of memories. One of the most memorable was with Joe Rogan at UFC on Fox: December 13th, 2014.
It was during an interview Rogan conducted with Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones, who was present on the other side of the screen via a satellite. Notably, ‘DC’ started to go on about how we will choke ‘Bones’ in the ring and whatnot. However, Rogan was one of the few people who knew exactly what Jones was capable of.
Hence, he chose the only option available- watch in amazement. His bewildered look at ‘DC’ still makes MMA fans cry out laughing.

“I believe that when we get to that cage. Jon Jones is gonna walk there with his title. I am gonna start pulling at that man’s title for the first two rounds and he’ll hold on to it. But right around the 3rd round, 4th round, Jon will open his hands. Let his grip go and say Daniel take it. This is too hard. I don’t wanna deal with it,” ‘DC’ told Rogan.

“I am gonna push that man to a place that he has never been in his entire life. And I will make Jon Jones quit. Sunday morning, Joe Rogan, you will wake up and you will say how Daniel made this look so easy,” Cormier continued.
Joe Rogan interviews a visibly devastated Daniel Cormier
After almost four years of the final chapter of their rivalry, it is safe to say Cormier was at the receiving end of the fights he had with Jones. Notably, Cormier lost both of the fights against ‘Bones’. However, governing bodies later overturned the UFC 214 decision.
Meanwhile, there was another memorable moment in the elite heavyweights (and light-heavyweights) rivalry which also involved Rogan. After suffering a crushing knock-out defeat by Jones at UFC 214, ‘DC’ was quickly approached by Rogan to get a peek into his mind. But a lost and tired ‘DC’ spoke as he was withholding his tears.
“I thought the fight was going well, I don’t even know what happened. I got kicked in the head. Oh man, it is so disappointing. I don’t know man, I guess, if you win both fights, there is no rivalry. So, I don’t know,” a devastated Cormier replied to Rogan.
This utter lack of sympathy created quite an uproar in the MMA fraternity. But Rogan recognized his mistake and issued an unconditional apology soon enough.

My apologies to @dc_mma and to all of you upset by my interviewing him after the fight. In all honestly I was kind of in shock.
