Did Israel Adesanya's new kick almost send his brother to the hospital? Talk about sibling rivalry!

Israel Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis will fight it out at UFC 305 as ‘The Last Stylebender’ is back after a long wait, following his loss to Sean Strickland. August 17th will see the fighters lock punches and KOs inside the octagon so they are preparing for the fight day and night. The two-time middleweight champion is in the final stages of training and is taking one day at a time, focusing mainly on wrestling and grappling.

He is eating, sleeping, and breathing the different techniques, and during a trial of one such new technique, Israel Adesanya almost created a dangerous casualty recently involving his brother.

‘The Last Stylebender’ uploaded a new video on X which was both hilarious and dangerous at the same time. He captioned it writing, “New skill unlocked! #UFC305.” In the video, he was walking with his staff members and David Adesanya, the man behind the fighter’s YouTube channel. ‘Izzy’ is David’s younger brother, and both seemed to have a fun bonding. As Adesanya was busy showing his kicking skills to the wall, he saw his elder brother coming from behind and, like an excited young bro, stopped him to show him his new technique.

As he went to show the kick, he spun and did a high kick which unfortunately almost hit his elder brother’s head! Adesanya immediately hugged his sibling and lowered his head as an apology, but the elder bro seemed used to these antics and was hilariously unfazed! The funniest part was the song at the end where ‘Izzy’ decided to put ‘Sorry’ by Justin Bieber to make his point.

It does not seem like he will be sorry when he uses this kick inside the octagon against Dricus Du Plessis. His intensity came out during the stare-down at the press conference and, apart from that, Adesanya also spoke about the appeal of UFC and the challenges of being a champ.

The two-time UFC middleweight champion with 5 title defenses under his belt has made his name concrete in the industry. He is one of the most active and successful champions in 185lbs. However, success always comes with hard work and sacrifice, which he understands well. During his interview with the team of TODAY, he explained that it was easy for people to say that they wanted to be UFC champions without knowing the grit and hardship of reaching the octagon.

Adesanya stated,You know, everyone wants to be a champion till you have to train for 5 rounds, 5 minutes each time, and then have to do it in front of millions and millions of people, in front of the whole world.” The host then revealed that sometimes watching the UFC made her uncomfortable, and thus Izzy confirmed that it was indeed not everyone’s cup of tea.

It’s not for everyone, but again neither is Rugby, neither is League, neither is any kind of sport. Everything’s got some kind of risk of violence to it but it’s you know, this is the ultimate sport,” the former champion added.

However, he explained the primal and raw appeal of UFC and watched the fights as he quoted UFC CEO Dana White’s statement. Adesanya stated that White explained it the best; the fight was in the DNA and one could see any sport but when a fight breaks out everyone stops and sees that. Adesanya’s comments show the fact that the journey to the octagon is one filled with a lot of dangers and determination and also the embracing of what it is to be a fighter.
