UFC 303 previously had the entire fanbase of combat sports on the edge of their seats with the promised return of Conor McGregor against Michael Chandler. However, the Irishman’s withdrawal from the fight turned everything upside down. The UFC CEO, Dana White, was forced to cancel the fight and replace it with the matchup between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka. However, ‘Iron’ doesn’t seem too happy with it. 

Needless to say, the entire world went into speculation mode after the press conference for UFC 303, which was scheduled to take place in Ireland, was suddenly canceled. Days after the incident, ‘The Notorious’ and the UFC confirmed that he had to back off from the bout because of an injury. Now, the netizens have stumbled upon rumors of the ‘Mystic Mac’ being in the middle of rehabilitation. While the details of the injury are still unknown, White confirmed the legitimacy of McGregor’s medical problem. But now, Chandler has come forth with a declaration.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, ‘Iron’ can be seen speaking about his commitment to UFC 303. He claimed that he made a promise to be there at UFC 303 and expects to stand by it. He said, “It’s UFC 303, Alex Pereira vs Jiri Prochazka. And just 6 days ago, it was McGregor vs. Chandler. It’s my card. I was my card whenever I signed the bout agreement, signed my name to the piece of paper that said I would be at UFC 303. I made a promise, I made a commitment, and that commitment still stands. Because your word is your bond and without your word, you are no good.”

Fans bash Michael Chandler after he speaks up about his canceled fight with Conor McGregor

The fight fans did not tune themselves down as they began to trash Chandler in the comments section. One of the fans called him deranged, typing, “Is he deranged? He’s following through his commitment to fight on UFC 303 by attending UFC 303?” Another fan claimed that the fighter had simply lost his mind after getting his bout canceled. The comment read, “Conor really has this guy by the f**kin’ nuts. He’s really lost his f**kin mind.”

Another fan pointed out that nobody cared whether Chandler showed up at the arena or not. The comment went like this, “Dude, you were contracted to fight. Now that there is no fight, no one cares if you are there or not. Either go to the fight, or don’t. I cannot understand why you are saying it like you are making some big sacrifice by taking an expense-free trip to sit in VIP seats at a sporting event.” Meanwhile, another comment read, “What a diva. Like anyone cares whether or not he’s there.”

Furthermore, a fan wondered if ‘Iron’ was trolling the UFC. The fan wrote, “I really wonder if he’s trolling at this point, legit can’t tell lol.” Another fan wrote, “chandler doesn’t seem self-aware enough to troll THIS good.” The fans claimed that waiting to fight McGregor made Chandler a bit more weird. “waiting for the conor fight has made chandler even more weird.”

Without a doubt, the fans made hilarious comments about Chandler. One of them claimed that the fighter was like a desperate ex. “Chandler comes across as that desperate ex that wants to get back together so bad lol. Love Chandler, but if nothing is booked for 2024 it’s really time to move on from Conor. Crazy to think it’s been almost 2 years we have been waiting for this fight.”

Nevertheless, the Dubliner has promised to make a return to the UFC and fight his opponent at his best form.
