

Another episode of the Dana White’s Contender Series went into the books with five more fighters managing to earn UFC contracts. Middleweight Chidi Njokuani, bantamweight Saimon Oliveira, flyweight Carlos Vergara, bantamweight Chad Anheliger, and welterweight knockout sensation, Josh Quinlan all earned UFC contracts.
Njokuani is the younger brother of former WEC and UFC veteran, Anthony. He stopped his opponent in the third round via vicious elbows on the ground. The Brazilian, Oliveira outworked his opponent to get the win. Vergara absolutely annihilated his counterpart to get the win. Anheliger managed to win a close decision. But Quinlan stole the show with yet another exciting performance.

Quinlan’s opponent, Logan Urban took the fight on short notice. While Urban certainly has great potential, as UFC President Dana White mentioned, he got treated like a shot notice opponent by Quinlan. The welterweight starlet is a former LFA fighter. His skills were on full display as he managed to hurt Logan early and followed up by picking his shots and eventually earned a spectacular stoppage.
Josh Quinan and two others earn spectacular finishes
While Quinlan arguably put on the most eye-catching performance of the night, the likes of Vergara and Njokuani certainly gave him some tough competition.
Njokuani almost spoiled his chance to earn a UFC contract as he received several illegal blows from his opponent Sousa. But he eventually managed to land his own shots and pocket a scary third-round finish.

Vergara stopped his opponent fast with a thunderous finish. He landed several knees on his opponent, eventually managing to get a stoppage in his favor.

But Quinlan certainly closed the show in a perfect manner. He made quick work of his opponent managing to get a finish inside 47 seconds. After hurting Urban early, Quinlan followed up in a ruthless manner and the referee had to intervene eventually to call a stop to the clash.

There are a few alumni of the Dana White’s Contender Series show that has managed to make a name for themselves. The likes of Kevin Holland, and more are to name a few. While ‘The Renegade‘ is certainly the biggest prospect to earn his way to the UFC from the latest episode, others have potential as well. It will be interesting to see who manages to make the most out of this golden opportunity.
