With Ian Garry out of his UFC 296 bout, will Vicente Luque get a replacement? There’s surely a candidate willing and ready to go up against him. And that’s none other than Kevin Holland. Holland has very recently expressed his wish to replace Garry but will it even work out?

Holland earlier took to his socials to not only propose a fight but also throw some shade at Ian Garry and his personal life, something that very much seems to be the trend in the UFC right now. Either way, here’s the exchange between Holland and Luque.

Holland asked for the fight in the most Holland way he could. He took to his socials and wrote, “Here is the deal, I checked with both my wife and my girlfriend, and they said I can fight this weekend.” Clearly, a dig at Garry’s wife Layla Machado Garry the author of ‘How To Be a WAG.’

In the blink of an eye, Luque got the message and responded to it. He’s in on the fight and is very close to making weight if the fight is green-flagged. So in return, he took to his X account and confirmed his intentions about the fight.

The welterweight fighters seem to be in agreement. An entertaining catchweight bout at 180 lbs to keep the fans entertained. But no amount of agreement or willingness is enough as long as Dana White isn’t convinced and so far, the UFC head honcho has kept his silence.

White has been struggling with canceling matches over the last few pay-per-views. Perhaps by saving this particular card by including Holland in the fight, he can regain some of the fans’ lost interest. Holland is certainly an interesting fighter, but can he amass the same amount of views?

Would fans prefer Garry over Holland?

While some might like Holland better, the original card was much hyped. The young Irish star wanted to prove his mettle against an experienced Vicente Luque, especially after all the verbal thrashings he had been receiving from the public and fighters. Perhaps this fight could have been way more thrilling with Garry fighting for more than just a win.

However, Garry was forced out due to a rather sudden Pneumonia diagnosis. It was also reported that the Irishman’s son had also been taken to the ER for similar symptoms. What does it mean? It means Garry might be out of the Octagon for at least around a month. Who would you like him to fight once he’s back?
