Since the meeting, Abdelaziz has only become more successful. Currently, he is aiming for a match between the African brothers, Kamaru Usman, and Israel Adesanya.

I want Kamaru Usman to fight Israel Adesanya – Ali Abdelaziz

Kamaru Usman has proved that he is the best welterweight in the world. Since winning the title in 2019, he has defended it five times and looks unstoppable. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ stands head and shoulders above the fighters in the division right now. His next opponent is expected to be Leon Edwards, according to Dana White.

However, his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, is very confident that Usman will beat Edwards and is more focused on a bigger fish. He wants him to beat ‘Rocky’ and then take on his African brother, Israel Adesanya. ‘The Last Stylebender‘ is the current UFC middleweight champion, and just like Usman, has dominated his division.

Usman, multiple times, has said that he won’t fight Adesanya. According to many, moving up a division should be the next step for the welterweight champion. But he doesn’t think so. He was even ready to skip Adesanya and try to challenge for the light heavyweight title. But that didn’t materialize.

But his manager believes that if the money is right, they will fight. In a recent interview, he said, “I want him to beat Leon Edwards, and I want him to go fight Israel Adesanya for the middleweight title. Bro, listen to me, I don’t think these guys, they cool, but I don’t think they are like best friends.”

“Listen, if there is enough money for both of them to fight, they will fight in the parking lot… These guys are not like they’re training partners, they’re brothers. They are African brothers and it holds a lot of value.”
