Valentina Shevchenko is without a doubt one of the most dominant female fighters the MMA world has ever seen. ‘Bullet’ currently holds multiple UFC records, including the most consecutive title defenses and victories in UFC women’s flyweight division history.

She recently surpassed Ronda Rousey’s record with her seventh title defense in the women’s flyweight category. Shevchenko defended her title and claimed her seventh ruby after a tough split decision victory over Taila Santos at UFC 275.

After breaking Rousey’s record and her title defense, the champion received a warm welcome back home in Kyrgyzstan from the fight fans. Shevchenko took to Twitter to share her special moment with the people of her nation.

On her arrival in Kyrgyzstan, fans greeted her with flowers and congratulated her on her recent triumph. The fans gathered around her for pictures and gave her a grand welcome.

She also Tweeted a picture of herself with her Flyweight belt and captioned it saying, ‘7 Rubys.’

This was one of the toughest title defenses Shevchenko has ever had. Many even criticized the split decision in favor of her after the fight.

Shevchenko was outclassed by Santos on the wrestling side of the game however, she did cause more damage in the fight and was dominant in her striking.

Will Valentina Shevchenko move up to Bantamweight after UFC 275?

Shevchenko is by far the most dominant fighter in the women’s flyweight division. After her big win at UFC 275, Shevchenko hinted at a move up to the bantamweight division.

Shevchenko said, “I wanna keep going. I wanna keep improve. I wanna keep fighting no matter who. Bantamweight, Flyweight, I am here. Just bring it on.”

‘Bullet’ has also fought at bantamweight and has several victories in that weight class. She has defeated numerous prominent Bantamweight champions, including Julianna Pena and Holly Holm.
