Colby Covington is the self-proclaimed biggest draw and A-side of the welterweight division. The UFC welterweight wasted no time after UFC 286 to go after Leon Edwards. However, that fight was snubbed by the UFC welterweight champion. But Covington is the one actively pursuing the fight against ‘Rocky’. The former interim champion also has higher aspirations in the form of facing Conor McGregor.
‘Chaos’ recently weighed in on his chances to face Conor McGregor. The American fighter also added multiple angles into the picture and explained why this fight is important.

Colby Covington described his “perfect scenario” for UFC
The former interim champion spoke to Michael Bisping about a potential fight with Conor McGregor later in the year. ‘Chaos’ said while describing the fight, “I think that would be beautiful Michael.” Furthermore, the UFC welterweight said that it is the perfect scenario for the company.
Covington continued, “Just you know I think it’s a perfect scenario for the company and I’m a company man. Colby Covington is a company man. He loves the company that changed his life and he wants to do the biggest and best business for the company.”
The American fighter said that his fight against Conor McGregor will be the biggest fight in UFC history. He also added that the fight covers a lot of different angles and can be easier to sell, “USA vs. Ireland there’s a lot of different angles that fight goes “. Lastly, Covington stated that he chases the biggest and the best fights in the UFC. He continued, “So if it happens that’ll be beautiful but I’m just gonna keep chasing the biggest and best fights. Keep getting better and you know, keep solidifying my legacy.”
The former interim champion had already disclosed his ambition of fighting ‘The Notorious’ in a previous interview too.
Colby Covington is aware of the dangers that Conor McGregor possesses
Covington also had some words of respect for ‘The Notorious’. The UFC welterweight added, “Everybody knows the star power that is Conor McGregor. The biggest draw. The things he’s done have been so unpredictable. You can never count that guy out.”

Speaking about the knockout power that the Irishman holds, ‘Chaos’ added, “That guy can spark anybody you know inside 10 seconds as you can see with Aldo. So you know you can’t underestimate that guy I think it would be a great fight with fireworks.”

There seems to be a lot of respect coming from the American fighter’s side. It will be interesting to know how this fight plays out if it ever happens.
