Most celebrities take the assistance of a personal trainer to stay or get in shape. Moreover, even athletes and people with martial arts backgrounds always have a helping hand while working out. However, renowned commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan recently revealed that he does not use a personal trainer during his workout sessions.

Combat sports like MMA and boxing incorporate a lot of weight training and other fitness programs that require the help of a trainer to get better results. Also, when celebrities, such as actors like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, have a highly physical movie role coming up, they go through an extensive workout regime with the help of a personal fitness trainer who sorts out their diet plan as well.

However, Joe Rogan claims that he doesn’t like having a personal fitness trainer around. Comedian Punkie Johnson recently joined him in the #1937 episode of the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast, where he touched upon this topic.

Joe Rogan needs his “alone time”

Joe Rogan states that working out for him is like having some time to himself, alone in the gym. He said, “The problem with that [having a fitness trainer] is that it’s great for sure; but I need alone time.”

The 55-year-old also added, “That’s my alone time when I work out. I like to put airpods on, listening to music and I just get cranking, and I just get in my own head. That’s what I like to do.”

Joe Rogan revealed that he didn’t like to be told what to do during workouts. He creates his own routine. He said, “I don’t want anybody telling me what we’re doing next. I know what to do. I write it out.” However, he doesn’t downplay the benefits of having a trainer.

But Rogan believes in getting something out of the workout session. He said, “There’s a great benefit to having a trainer, there’s no doubt. But for me, it’s like what I get out of it personally.”

Celebrities who prefer working out with personal trainers -Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dwayne Johnson, and Henry Cavill

The most prominent celebrity that comes to our mind when we talk about fitness is Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Austrian-born American actor was the face of bodybuilding during the latter half of the 1900s. He was initially trained by Charles Bennett, whom he met at his first ‘Mr.Universe’ competition. However, Schwarzenegger trained at the Gold’s Gym under trainer Joe Weider when he moved to the United States.

Another notable face in the fitness game is WWE legend and Hollywood megastar, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The ‘Fast and the Furious’ actor already had a strong and tall physical build. But after Johnson became a Hollywood A-lister, he took his workout to another level under the guidance of his fitness coach, Dave Rienzi. His recent workout for the movie ‘Black Adam’ included age-appropriate workouts and having seven meals a day.

However, Dave Rienzi is not known for helping to train just one celebrity. He has helped several other celebrities, including British actor Henry Cavill. The ‘Man of Steel’ actor had to put on a considerable amount of muscle for his superhero movies.

It is safe to assume that most celebrities resort to training under a fitness coach. It is primarily due to the fact that these actors need not necessarily belong to a fitness or athletic background. Having a personal trainer helps them get acquainted with the workout process for the present and the future.
