The Will Smith-Chris Rock incident has started several conversations. The incident has also divided people on the appropriateness of the joke as well as Smith’s action of slapping Rock. Joe Rogan too has spoken about the incident. In the midst of all this, Rogan also had an issue with media outlets for spreading a ‘woke narrative’.

In a recent episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, Rogan and his guest, Yannis Pappas, spoke about the kind of journalism they had an issue with. The famous podcaster was not happy with journalists who also consider themselves activists or those who desire to shape culture.
“They’re trying to push a narrative and that you know, ultra-progressive woke narrative. They won’t stop with it.”
Reading the title of one such article, Rogan said, “It says ‘White outrage about Will Smith’s slap is rooted in anti-blackness. It’s inequality in plain sight.’ What! They just get sucked into wokeness.”
Rogan disagreed with the article in question and said that instead, it was ‘violence’.

While both personalities disagreed with the article, they discussed how long it must have taken to come up with arguments penned inside it. Rogan even compared it to the ‘math lady’ meme and questioned the logic behind it. However, this is not the first time Rogan has spoken about woke culture. He has done so in other episodes as well.
Joe Rogan: Earlier comments on woke culture
In a previous episode of his podcast, Rogan had said that one can never be ‘woke enough’. He said this in the context of race.

Additionally, as reported by ‘Sport Bible‘, the UFC commentator has also talked about how wokeness has affected comedy movies. As per the article, Rogan had said, “It’s like wokeness killed the comedy movie in a lot of ways.”
Thus, it looks like Joe Rogan is not too fond of the woke culture as he has shared his thoughts on it several times; his newest comments being about media outlets spreading such a narrative.
