Mixed martial arts is a sport known for its intensity and physicality, often leading to tensions between fighters. With fighters pushing their bodies to the limit, it’s no surprise that things can get ugly between them. But a few years ago, fans would have never expected things to get ugly between former friends Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington.

He claimed that he currently had three felonies because Covington accused him of giving him a brain injury. Masvidal then went on to question the authentication of Covington’s alleged injuries.

He raised questions about how Covington can fight in the UFC if he has a brain injury from the alleged assault. Masvidal also talked about the potential legal ramifications for the UFC if Covington were to fight and sustain further damage. However, ‘Gamebred’ stood firm in his stance that he did not do anything in the March 22 incident.

“I currently got three felonies because this b*tch Colby says I gave him a brain injury. So how the f*ck is he gonna fight for any type. That’s what I want to know, you know like, the UFC’s gonna get sued if that guy goes in there and something like that happens right because supposedly allegedly as I didn’t do sh*t. He says I gave him a brain injury. I didn’t do sh*t though.”

Clearly, Masvidal and Covington are the two most talked about fighters when it comes to the welterweight title shot. UFC President Dana White has publically said that ‘Chaos’ should get the next title shot. However, champion Leon Edwards feels that it should be Jorge Masvidal. That is only if ‘Gamebred’ wins his next fight against Gilbert Burns.

Both Masvidal and Covington have had a rough UFC record. Covington has lost two of his last three fights. Masvidal, on the other hand, has lost all of his last three fights.
