Tony Ferguson finds himself amid a disheartening six-fight losing streak. And witnessing a legend endure such a downturn is undeniably difficult. His next challenge comes in the form of Paddy Pimblett, a rising talent boasting an impressive six-fight winning streak. Despite the seeming disparity in their recent performances, this unlikely matchup is set to unfold in the UFC. However, an additional question looms ominously in the shadows.

How long will it take for the UFC to let Tony Ferguson go? It is not rocket science to understand that if any other fighter had committed such a losing streak, then he would have been laid off by now. But in the case of Ferguson, Dana White is playing it safe. Team Khabib believes that the UFC will milk Ferguson for some time before letting him go.

Tony Ferguson was once a mystic fighter, holding the most winning streaks in the history of the UFC, but luck seems to have turned against the fighter. Ferguson is about to face Pimblett in the coming months, and there’s been a question of credibility for the UFC from the community. Team Khabib seems to have answered that question.

Javier Mendez, in his recent statement, claimed that it is not easy for the UFC to let Ferguson retire, as the fighter still holds relevance among the fandom. Mendez said, “It’s not about being right by him; it’s about being right by them. Nothing to do with him; they’re not taking care of him. They’re taking care of them. Because anybody that can hurt their brand by getting their eyeballs somewhere else, they’re not going to let them go.”

Mendez further added, “Do you think they really want to let Nate Diaz go? Not really. They just didn’t have much of an option. So, you know, Tony, he’s not somebody that they want to let go till he’s, they take out the life out of him where he’s not much value to anybody else.”

Mendez explained that, as of now, Ferguson is way too valuable for the UFC, and letting him go will cost them a fortune. Nonetheless, sooner or later, Ferguson will leave the UFC. Ferguson is looking to win his next match, as he has clinched David Goggins as his coach.
