UFC 293, the promotion’s signature event in Sydney, Australia is just six weeks out, and doesn’t have a main event! Earlier, Dana White planned that the winner of Robert Whittaker vs Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 290 would face Israel Adesanya for the title at UFC 293. Du Plessis won that fight via KO and faced off with Adesanya in a memorable stare down. However, things haven’t panned out the way they should have because Du Plessis opted out of the bout because of his inability to recover.
Enters Sean Strickland into the conversation! Although a famous UFC fighter for a long time, Strickland gained attention after his recent victory over Abus Magomedov. Many fans and pundits pitched him to fight for the title. Moreover, both Adesanya and Strickland agreed on the bout. However, things are not looking very bright for that fight!

In his recent tweet, ‘Tarzan’ expressed his frustration over not being granted a title fight against Adesanya at UFC 293. In a candid statement, Strickland highlighted the absence of a headline bout just six weeks before the event, suggesting that the UFC had mishandled the card’s organization.
I will say it is wild they are having a card like that and don't have a headline 6 weeks out. Someone at the ufc really dropped the ball on this…
I offered. Best I could do. Maybe we can just have a parking lot event after for the aussies. https://t.co/NMWIJZwhbS

Further, Strickland revealed that he had personally offered to fight Adesanya. Despite his willingness to step up, Strickland seemed skeptical that the UFC was interested in making the fight happen.
I mean I'm a grown ass man. I'd fight him right after my last fight if you pay me. I don't think the ufc wants it soooo burgers for me..

With a touch of sarcasm, Strickland added that he might as well enjoy burgers while he is not engaging in a fight. “I’d fight him right after my last fight if you pay me. I don’t think the ufc wants it soooo burgers for me,” he said.
Strickland also talked about the prospect of Du Plessis not fighting Adesanya at UFC 293.

In his signature style, Strickland talked about Du Plessis not fighting for the title. According to him, the African fighter is making the right choice. “If I were dricus and even if the money was right I’d say no… Hes technically next in line and if he wins the money will be 10 times better than what they will offer him,” Strickland tweeted.
As per ‘Tarzan’, a loss for Du Plessis will set him back several years in the pursuit of a rematch. “If he loses hes years from a rematch Hes making the right call”, Strickland added.
