Max Holloway seemingly desires to leave the featherweight division and rise up in the weight category, following his magnificent performance against Arnold Allen, at UFC Kansas City. Without a doubt, the fighter impressed the world with not only his fighting prowess but also his multiple-win streak. Later, the fighter revealed his desire to climb up the weight category. Undoubtedly, his former opponents Charles Oliveira, Dustin Poirier, and  Justin Gaethje in the division, the fights would indeed become exemplary if Holloway rose up on the ladder.

‘Blessed’ recently appeared on ‘The MMA Hour’. Wherein, the mixed martial artist voiced his desire to fight in the lightweight division. Furthermore, the fighter also named a handful of warriors to fight against in the upper division. The news spread like wildfire as fans began talking about it on the internet. However, the fans had mixed opinions about Holloway’s decision.

In the recent episode of ‘The MMA Hour’ with the reputed MMA reporter, Ariel Helwani, ‘Blessed’ talked about his intentions of jumping to the lightweight division of the UFC. Although he didn’t seem sure to have struck a decision regarding the jump, he has opened up a fair bit about it.

Holloway named a few fighters he would love to go against in the lightweight division. He named Poirier, Gaethje, as well as Khabib Nurmagomedov’s prodigy, Islam Makhachev. Undeniably, Holloway’s fight with any of these fighters would greatly raise the spirits of the UFC universe.

‘Blessed’ said, “We’ll just see the way of the direction. Who knows? We saw that fun ‘BMF’ belt with Gaethje and Poirier. Me and Poirier for the third time, I’d love, and people keep harassing me about Gaethje anyways. At the end of the day, that would be fun at ’55. I know ’55 there’s a lot of fun fights for me. Maybe Oliveira II, and of course, I never got to finish the thing with Khabib, so Islam’s there so that’d be a great thing.”

Fans React to Holloway’s decision of landing in the lightweight division

‘Blessed’ recently declared that he wanted to move up to the lightweight category. He wanted to face his former opponents once again and have a shot at the title. After Holloway’s words spread through the internet, the fans began voicing their opinions.

Some fans were seemingly excited to watch Holloway fight in the lightweight division. With the big names under consideration, their entropy rose on the exponential plane. However, many other fans didn’t approve of Holloway. They believed that it was indeed a bad move for him.

  • He could take some time off to put on some weight first, we haven’t seen a proper Lightweight Max Holloway yet

  • He tried that with Dustin and didn’t look too good.

  • Holloway better learn to stop taking damage. Silly move moving up
  • Max got about 3 years left of that prime. He should moved to 155 a while ag
