UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman flaunts the new cover of GQ magazine after being featured in it.

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ started wrestling at a very young age. From the streets of Nigeria to the UFC octagon, Usman has come a long way. Today he is one of the most prominent names in the sport and hails a professional career record of 20-1 under his name.

The Nigerian-born fighter has never lost a fight in the UFC. Furthermore, he currently reigns the welterweight division of the UFC. Usman became the champion in 2019 and has had five successful title defenses ever since.

The 34-year-old sits at the pinnacle of the UFC men’s pounds-for-pounds rankings. He has made a fortune through the sport. Interestingly, such spectacular success brings in a lot of money, brands, and sponsorship for the athletes.

And the case is the same for the UFC champion Usman. Recently, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ got featured in one of the most famous magazines GQ Sports.

It is just one more feather on the champion’s cap, who currently holds several amazing records in the promotion. Many even compare him to the legend of the sport and former double champion of UFC Georges St-Pierre.

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has already surpassed GSP’s thirteen consecutive wins record. However, he is just four defenses away from breaking GSP’s record of nine successful title defenses.

Usman is fresh from his recent win over Colby Covington at UFC 268. Interestingly, he will soon return to the UFC octagon against an old opponent for his sixth welterweight title defense.

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ defeated ‘Rocky’ via a unanimous decision in their first clash in 2015. Interestingly, Edwards showed stunning improvements after his loss against Usman.

He won many back-to-back fights in the division and is currently number three on the welterweight roster. The British fighter is currently on a nine-fight undefeated streak and wants to fight for the title next.

Interestingly, it seems like the UFC will soon fulfill his wish. The UFC boss has agreed to set up a title fight for the Brit. Hence, he will see the Nigerian fighter for the second time soon. However, the UFC is yet to announce the fight officially.
