The UFC world has repeatedly pictured its newborn sister, Power Slap, as nothing but a setback. The UFC boss, Dana White, indeed took a major risk in his new venture. Furthermore, many fighters have claimed that Power Slap was simply not worthy of their time, and further claimed that it was indeed a dangerous sport. However, the former UFC middleweight contender, Eric Spicely, recently shared how much money the league paid to the contenders. While most of the world called the league a ‘crazy sport’, Spicely had something else in his mind, although he seemingly said the same words. The words were brought to light by the longtime MMA analyst, Luke Thomas. The analyst took to Twitter and shared what the former UFC contender had to say about the slapping league.
However, the fighter also revealed that he did not receive any contracts, even after passing the deal. Without a doubt, the incident raised some doubts about the slapping show. Nonetheless, the revelation did its part of astonishing the audience.

However, what shocked the MMA analyst was the payment promised by the league. However, the analyst was quick to share the snippet, although he couldn’t get hold of the entire story.
UFC veteran Eric Spicely said he was contacted to see if he’d like to participate in the Power Slap League. Not sure what the full pay scale is, but this nugget caught my attention: pic.twitter.com/Qlej95KmJs

In the snippet shared by Thomas, Spicely confirmed that he was contacted by the league. He wrote, “I was contacted to do slap league, you guys would be shocked at how much it pays.” He further wrote that it was $2000 dollars to show for the fight and $2000 dollars on winning the match.
Without a doubt, the scales were overturned by the revelation. Even Spicely was tempted to say that the sport was “f**king nuts.” Surprisingly, the former UFC middleweight revealed that even though he passed on the deal, he never received a contract. He estimated that the league would pay the winner a total of $10,000 during the entire period of filming the reality show.

White has always stood in support of the Power Slap, believing that it is not a dangerous sport. He compared the slapping league with combat sports. He fortified his beliefs by saying that the contenders get hit only 3-5 times in the slapping league. However, combat athletes take around 300-400 hits in a single match.
Doubtlessly, the fans were not in support of White’s belief. The fans reasoned that the sport was brutal because the contenders had no option to defend themselves. Furthermore, they believed that it was easier to get brain damage through the league.
