The UFC returns to the Apex on October 12 for UFC Fight Night Vegas 98 for one of the better non-PPV cards of the year. While Fight Night cards are more often than not at the receiving end of criticism over their quality, that is very far from the case for this card. After all, Brandon Royval and Tatsuro Taira will fight in a cracking bout that fans can’t wait to see.
Their clash will have significant implications for the future of the flyweight division, which will see a shakeup if Taira wins. The rest of the card has some very interesting matchups with a great selection of various matchups, styles, and selections. In this article, we take a look at how much the headliners are likely to make for their clash.

In his last two fights, Brandon Royval has fought the champion and the former champion. While ‘Raw Dawg’ lost a decision to the champion, Alexandre Pantoja in their UFC 296 co-main event clash, he reportedly made a handsome sum of $197,000. In his Fight Night clash against Brandon Moreno, however, the American reportedly made $100,000 in base pay.

Based on his previous earnings it seems Royval will make at least $100,000 in base pay along with any bonuses he manages to earn. Taira, on the other hand, took home $110,000 in his last fight against Alex Perez and is likely to get the same amount this time around too. But Taira is fighting for a far more valuable thing than money.
What’s your perspective on:
Will Taira's undefeated streak continue, or is Royval ready to reclaim his top spot?

The Japanese flyweight is undefeated and has been on a tear in six fights in the UFC so far. Currently ranked #5, a win against #1 ranked Royval will all but guarantee him a shot at the 125-pound title in the future. And the stakes are just as high for Royval, who will fight to keep his spot as the second-best fighter in the division.
How much will Brad Tavares and JunYong Park make for their co-main event bout?

In the co-main event, both Brad Tavares and JunYong Park will look to bounce back from their losses in a solid middleweight matchup. Last year Tavares defeated former middleweight champion and Anderson Silva-beater Chris Weidman at UFC 292. According to reports, Tavares made $200,000 in that fight. Since this is a Fight Night co-main event bout, Tavares is likely to make roughly the same amount. On the other hand, the South Korean middleweight will reportedly make at least $85,000 in base pay to take on Tavares.
Of course, it is important to remember that fighter pay is not officially disclosed by the UFC, except when putting on cards in California where it is mandatory to make the fighter pay public. All of the information we have about fighter pay and all the estimates made are based upon reports and speculations respectively. What are your predictions for the UFC Vegas card?
