Alex Perez vs. Tatsuro Taira is perhaps the most interesting fight that could be made by UFC’s flyweight division at the moment. Both men have proven to be dangerous and competitive fighters during their UFC stints, the duration of which varies wildly. Taira, the #13 ranked flyweight, is undefeated, having convincingly defeated all five opponents put in front of him by the UFC. And the 24-year-old looks poised to storm the men’s 125-pound division and fight for the title soon.

Standing in his way is #5 ranked Alex Perez, seven years into his UFC career, and coming off a spectacular second knockout win over Matheus Nicolau earlier this year. Having recently fought (and lost to) two champions, the American is raring to get back into the title picture. And a victory over the undefeated Japanese fighter would help him do exactly that. Ahead of their UFC Fight Night Vegas 93 main event bout on June 15, we take a look at how much they are expected to get paid for it.

How much are Tatsuro Taira and Alex Perez making for their main event bout?

As always, one must begin by acknowledging that determining how much a fighter gets is based on estimates and best guesses made from previous payouts. This is because the Dana White-led promotion does not make public how much it pays fighters unless putting on events in California as the state’s Athletic Commission makes promotions release fighter pay.

Since the Perez vs. Tatsuro-led card will take place under the jurisdiction of the Nevada Athletic Commission, no such information will be forthcoming even after the conclusion of the UFC Apex card. However, according to NYfights.com, Perez is estimated to make in the ballpark of $160k to $180k for his main event bout. Since the 32-year-old was paid $135k for his last fight against Nicolau, which he won, he is expected to get an increment and take his total purse up to $180k for fighting Taira.

Tatsuro, on the other hand, can expect a much larger pay increase. Making his headlining debut, the Japanese flyweight will probably get a bump in his pay for his main event bout against the veteran. According to the outlet, Tatsuro reportedly received around $28k for his second-last appearance in the octagon at UFC 290 last year.

This is expected to rise almost three times to around $100k for fighting Perez in the main event. These numbers can be supplemented by any bonuses that the fighters win, as well as the sponsorship and any miscellaneous payments.

How will other fighters on the card fare financially?

As we have mentioned, information about UFC fighter pay is difficult to accurately assess, except for any disclosures the promotion or fighters make. This is why there is not much information about the other fighters on the card, the vast majority of whom are unranked and relatively lesser known.

Despite this, there is one other fighter about whom some information is available. Unranked featherweight Lucas Almeida, who will face newcomer Timothy Cuamba on the main card will reportedly make around $40k, up more than thirty percent from his reported $28.5k payday for UFC 296 in December last year.

While it is unknown how much their other fighters, including co-main event participants, Douglas de Silva Andrade and Miles Johns are making, most of them fall under the lowest of the UFC’s three-tier payment structure. As such, their guaranteed purses would probably range between $12k and $40k.
