UFC Vegas 67 Star Umar Nurmagomedov States What Team Dagestan Needs After Khabib’s Departure

Nurmagomedov has been appearing in UFC fight nights since January 2021.

In the video, the Russian fighter explained how the Dagestanis will now need a new representative for themselves, as Khabib Nurmagomedov retires. The Bantamweight fighter looks confident that he will be the one indeed.

UFC’s rising star exalts himself

The Dagestani fighter states the need for Team Dagestan as he speaks in the video. He mentions that since the legendary ‘Eagle’ has retired, they will need a new representative. Umar Nurmagomedov said, “Brotha. Now Khabib leave and we need somebody who will say something smart. You understand?” As a reply, the associate making the video says, “that’s you. Your English good now.” The new fighter replies with a polite “thank you”.

Although the conversation states a serious topic and need of the hour, it turned hilarious when the speaker talks about Nurmagomedov’s English. Putting the jokes aside, ‘The Eagle’ was indeed a good representative when it came to team Dagestan. The undisputed leadership made the fans respect the ethnic group of fighters even more since their debut. In his absence, the fighters look forward to a new and smart individual to fill in the vacant power spot. It seems like the 27-year-old fighter feels that he is the new successor of the fighter who shared the same name.

Will UFC see the power shift visibly?

Even though the headache and responsibility do not fall on the fans, it is a concern for the fighters who come from Dagestan. Although a good representative means a respectful name for the home camp; it is now to be thought upon who will take the place of the undefeated ‘Eagle’.
