Is it fair that Meerschaert earns ten times more than de Ridder for UFC Vegas 100?

The excitement in the MMA world is palpable with the UFC entering Las Vegas for its 100th Fight Night event in Vegas. The UFC Apex is all set to boom with a main event clash between Neil Magny and Carlos Prates. But the card has its fair share of issues with Cody Garbrandt pulling out of his slated co-main event bout. Another bout got scrapped as Ricky Turcios stepped out of his scrap against Benardo Sopaj and was ultimately replaced by the fight between Gerald Meerschaert and Reinier de Ridder

As the middleweight fighters got ready to clash against each other, the world of mixed martial arts began wondering about the payouts for the co-eventers. So, without any further ado, let’s find out the purse of the co-eventers at UFC Vegas 100.

Entering the Apex on 10th November, Meerschaert would boast a record of 12-9 in the UFC. He is expected to receive a base pay of $100 thousand, along with an incentive pay of $21 thousand. In case the 37-year-old middleweight contender manages to defeat de Ridder, he would expand his wallet by an additional win bonus of $50 thousand.

On top of that, if he performs well enough to earn the ‘Performance of the Night’ or ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus, ‘GM3’ can expect to earn somewhere between $200-$500 thousand at UFC Vegas 100. But that’s not something that Meerschaert can control. All he needs to do is try his best and impress the UFC head honcho, Dana White

UFC Vegas 100 being his 21st bout under the banner of UFC, Meerschaert would try his best to rise victorious. Currently on a 2-fight winning streak, both of which came via submissions in the second round, the Wisconsin resident expects to continue his winning momentum.
