The UFC recently parted ways with USADA and has brought in Drug-Free Sports International (DFSI). Since 2015, the USADA has been helping the UFC to dissuade its athletes from using banned substances. However, their partnership with the UFC ended in October 2023 after making some serious allegations against the company. Since then, the DFSI has been brought in to help athletes stay away from performance-enhancing drugs/steroids.

The UFC has issued a new database, and a recent Instagram post by Freak MMA shares the details of the athletes added to the list. Giving fans a chance to see which athletes have been added to the news database.

Conor McGregor’s name pops up in the latest anti-doping test database

The UFC recently updated their database for the Anti Doping test and, surprisingly, McGregor has been added to the list for two test sessions this year. McGregor is one of those athletes that has already been tested previously. However, his second testing might just hint at a probable comeback for the Dubliner as fans wait eagerly for his return. The list also includes Dricus Du Plessis, Sean Strickland and many more. While these fighters are lined up to be tested twice, there are 92 others who will be tested once.

The UFC and the USADA parted ways after the agency played a vital role in delaying the return of McGregor. However, with DFSI taking control, it seems the athletes will now have a better testing protocol. Many fighters have openly criticized the USADA for their testing methods, which involve testing fighters during odd hours. One of the biggest drawbacks was testing the fighters during their weight cut.

Cutting weight before a fight is one of the toughest things for a fighter. However, the USADA made sure they tested the fighters then as well. Now with the new testing agency working in tandem and Conor McGregor added to the list, does this mean we’ll see the Dubliner in action soon?

Will Conor McGregor finally make a return in 2024?

Conor McGregor is one of the biggest superstars in the UFC and the fans are missing his presence inside the Octagon. The 35-year-old former two division champion was last seen inside the Octagon at UFC 264 where he took on Dustin Poirier for the second time in his career. While fans expected ‘ The Notorious’ one to walk out as the winner, he not only lost the match but also broke his leg in the fight. His injury forced him to stay out of action for more than three years. However, McGregor is now all set to make a return and is willing to get back to winning ways.

He recently took to his X account to announce his opponent and his date of return. McGregor will be facing Michael Chandler as and when he returns to the Octagon. While the 35-year-old has shown his interest in making a comeback this year. The UFC is yet to make any official announcement yet.
