Some of the biggest names of the UFC have made their mark in the MMA world. ‘Mystic Mac’ Conor McGregor and Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett are the most shining names who made their way into the UFC after their stupendous runs with Cage Warriors. However, one more champion from Cage Warriors is eyeing the UFC.

The current Cage Warriors Featherweight Champion Paul Hughes put up an outstanding fight against Jordan Vucenic at Cage Warriors 145. He won the fight via decision to become the Featherweight Champion.

Paul Hughes wants to rule the Octagon next, like Conor McGregor and Paddy Pimblett

In his post-fight interview, Hughes was also asked about his future plans. However, the reporter himself stated, “The biggest fight game in the world is the UFC and that’s undoubtedly the next for you”. The interviewer continued, “Is there anyone there that you have your eye on in particular or you’re just waiting for the call and just looking to take it on?”

The World’s No.1 streaming service for fight fans, UFC Fight Pass, also put out a video of Hughes on their Twitter handle with the caption, “UFC! UFC! UFC! UFC!” What a performance by Paul Hughes. #CW145″.

Hughes clarified his plans, stating, “I haven’t got a name in mind. I am just looking forward to my UFC contract, it’s inevitable. It absolutely needs to happen.” He went on, “I am the biggest prospect outside of the UFC and also I got a nation behind me and I’m gonna be a superstar.”

The Instagram page Peruvian mma also covered Hughes’ win. They captioned their post, “Paul Hughes unifies the Cage Warriors featherweight title and asks for his shot at the UFC. Conor Mcgregor and Paddy Pimblett also managed to capture the same title and later entered the UFC.”

Hughes’ fight for the Cage Warriors Featherweight title showcased his awesome endurance inside the cage. A lot of MMA fans would be waiting to see him grace the Octagon.

The most famous Cage Warriors fighters who have achieved significant success inside the Octagon are Conor McGregor and Paddy Pimblett. While McGregor has gone on to become one of the biggest celebrities in the entire sports world apart from the UFC, Pimblett has also built up a loyal fanbase for himself and has earned a name as one of the most ‘well-behaved’ UFC fighters.

It’s pertinent to note that ‘Mystic Mac’ was a two-weight-division champion in Cage Warriors, a feat which he successfully repeated in the UFC as well. But, ‘The Baddy’ is yet to earn any such accolade in the UFC.

It will also be really interesting to watch Paul Hughes’ skills once he steps into the biggest fight game in the world.
