UFC star Khamzat Chimaev ignited a chain of vehement reactions after his latest comments about former UFC champion, Jiri Prochazka, went viral. Not only did the surging title contender question the Czech fighter’s title run, but he also seemed puzzled by how the promotion signed the latter instead of him. Further, his boastful claims of his continual submission of the light heavyweight fighter in the sparring session that dates back to 4 years didn’t sit well with ‘Denisa’. While, as expected, Prochazka hit back with a promise to exhibit his “true power” in their next meet, another UFC star weighed his opinion regarding the same.
Notably, UFC star Sean Strickland, who once sparred with ‘Borz’, burst his bubble and snatched the ground below his feet with his comments. The middleweight fighter took to Twitter and pointed out the differences between a training session and an actual fight inside the Octagon. In addition, he also mentioned the particular approach Prochazka adopted in sparring sessions.

The 32-year-old in his tweets suggested Prochazka wasn’t someone who did well in training. Also, according to him, the Znojmo native lack any fighting style that could be attached to him.
Thus, the American fighter, who exchanged blows with both the fighters at loggerheads on the mat, wrote, “To both their credit I sparred Jiri. He isn’t someone who does well in training. He doesn’t have a fighting style that he can use fully in training… You would think he wasn’t that good if you watched me spar him but training isn’t a fight and that’s where he shines”

Following this, ‘Tarzan’ drew a parallel with another fight that took place in the promotion.
Hence, he added a word of caution and declared, “People take training so seriously….. I watched Buckley beat curt in the gym which is why Buckley wanted the fight and then they fight and curt clowns him…..”

Previously, the 26-5 record holder had the opportunity to gauge Chimaev’s skills as the latter once joined the Xtreme Couture gym to sharpen his skills.
Strickland once called Chimaev “better than everybody” in a training session
In the sparring video from the famed gym, the fans could witness the #7 ranked middleweight parting words of wisdom to the welterweight title contender.
Thus, Strickland could be heard speaking, “Be nice. Understand you’re better than most. You’re better than everybody. So just don’t hurt people.”
