The troublesome handshake took place between two chess players at the FIDE Chess World Cup 2021. The video went viral and people have been talking about the awkward handshake because of how long and confusing it was. Many social media users also equated the handshake to a game of ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’.

‘The Notorious’ shared a video of the handshake on his Instagram story with laughing emojis. He wrote, “😂😂”.

While Conor McGregor surely found the awkwardness between both the players hilarious, the fighter himself has had some awkward moments of his own. One such moment was his meeting with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin.

The athlete met Putin back in 2018. While posing for a photo with Putin, McGregor put his arm around the President. That’s when the security warned the fighter to not do so. Thus, McGregor quickly removed his arm. This resulted in an awkward moment for McGregor. The Irish fighter, later on, posted pictures of him with Putin on Instagram.

Conor McGregor has had some other weird moments as well. For example, back in 2015, the fighter met his body double William Joe Tussing in Sin City. However, the awkward atmosphere soon set in when McGregor said that his body double looked nothing like him.
