Conor McGregor has been away from the octagon for some time now. He last fought Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, in July 2021. The fight ended in a Poirier victory as McGregor suffered a horrible leg injury and the fight was stopped. Fans have been waiting for his comeback since then. A recent tweet from ‘Mystic Mac’ has now sparked some hope for McGregor’s fans.
Conor McGregor needs to stay in the USADA testing pool for six months and undergo at least two tests before being eligible to fight in the UFC. The fighter’s tweet is a hint in that direction but has raised many questions too. The tweet has also raised suspicions from fans who felt that something was fishy about McGregor claiming that he would soon be ready for testing.

He tweeted, “I am clear for testing in February. I will complete my two tests per USADA and we are booking a fight.”

McGregor fans are elated at the news. The much-awaited comeback may come in mid-2023 sometime if things fall in place.
Conor McGregor needs to clear the USADA test
The USADA testing pool and the rules have been a major block for Conor McGregor. Since he hasn’t been tested in a really long time and owing to his recent bulky physique, many questions were raised.

UFC president Dana White had earlier confirmed Conor McGregor’s withdrawal. White had also said that McGregor will have to spend at least 6 months in the program.

‘The Notorious’ underwent surgery after his leg injury and went through extensive rehabilitation. He has been sharing his steady progress on social media. The social media posts suggest he has been working out and is in good shape.

He also shared pictures of him sparring with training partners and didn’t look concerned about his leg injury. The leg showed no signs of an injury or strapping of any kind.
Conor McGregor will have many fighters lined up
Whenever McGregor makes his comeback, he will not be short of opponents to fight. A fight with ‘Mystic Mac’ will be on a lot of lists and fans may want to see ‘The Notorious’ face Jorge Masvidal or Michael Chandler soon after his comeback. Both the fighters have called out McGregor.

Conor McGregor, however, will have to choose his opponents wisely. He is currently on the verge of being unranked and will have to climb up the ladders.
