Speaking on ‘The Fighter and The Kid’, Bryan Callen and Brendan Schaub discussed the inside information on the injury and McGregor’s withdrawal from the fight. When the hosts asked Schaub about the specific injury of the former double-weight champion, he revealed that McGregor might have injured his toe. He said, “Leg… broken toe; broken toe, and then it’s on the same leg that he injured. There might be some sh** going on with his…” The veteran also spoke about how the fight was going to happen and it might take place in December.
During the interaction, Callen and Schaub reflected on how being in MMA is not just about training for the fight, but is also about being careful. Since the training involves combat, there are a lot of injury threats that the fighters need to be aware of. Not only did Conor Mcgregor’s fight fall out, but other fighters like Khamzat Chimaev and Jamahal Hill also had to withdraw from their fights because of injury or sickness. Jamahal Hill injured his knee and Chimaev got food poisoning.
Despite a handful of fighters getting injured, the focus remains on McGregor. The doubts about his injury have been pondered by veterans and fans alike, but recently UFC CEO Dana White cleared everything. He claimed that ‘Mystic Mac’ would never fake an injury, especially if the payout was higher.

However, the UFC head honcho cannot give up even if a star fighter gets injured because he has to put up a show for the fans of the UFC.

The host pointed out that there were different conspiracy theories about McGregor’s injury, but White was not ready to hear any rumors. He said, “I’ve said it many times before, and I’ll say it again. Conor McGregor has never done that. Conor McGregor never leaves up to a fight and tries to renegotiate the contract or get more money. He has never done anything even remotely close to that.”
