The last few days have been a rollercoaster for all MMA fans. After a thrilling UFC 302, when they were ready for the pledged fireworks end of this month, disaster struck! But was it a sheer betrayal by the former dual-weight champion or a necessary revocation? This is what the MMA community is debating about in regards to Conor McGregor‘s sudden cancellation of the UFC 303 press conference which was sold out within minutes. The UFC was supposed to hold the press conference in Dublin on June 3rd but they had to cancel it as Conor McGregor halted any public broadcast in consultation with the UFC.

“In consultation with the UFC, todays press conference was cancelled due to a series of obstacles outside of our control,” said McGregor via X. After the cancellation, rumors flooded the internet claiming that the fight was on the verge of cancellation, leaving even the UFC pundits confused and awaiting updates. So what exactly is happening? Is the fight canceled? Michael Chandler‘s tweet might give us some clarity.

Just a day ahead of the press conference, the promotion came forward to ask for an apology as they confirmed that the press conference was canceled. After constant callouts, Conor McGregor came forward to ask for an apology as well. Yet, neither Dana White nor Conor McGregor disclosed the exact reason for the cancellation, raising concerns among UFC 303 fans.

MMA pundits and journalists are of the opinion that the probability of cancellation of the match is still there as Dana White is on the back foot right now because of ‘Mystic Mac’. Michael Chandler, who was silent on the unfolding events has finally decided to come forward to speak up and his opinion seems to be against their clash.

“If you are looking for me, I’ll be out in Tennessee. No way out of life we choose. Walk on,” wrote Chandler on X. What does it mean for the MMA community? Well, Chandler leaves training camp in South Florida and goes back home to Nashville Tennessee amid Conor McGregor injury rumors and press conference cancellation.

And as of now, nothing can be said defi͏nitively sin͏ce there is no o͏fficial confirma͏ti͏o͏n from t͏he promotion. However, the probabilit͏y of the fight happening is now quite slim. This back and forth has also urged MMA analyst Daniel Cormier to come forward with his two cents!

Daniel Cormier worried about the chances of the clash

Former UFC double champ and UFC analyst, Daniel Cormier believes that the fight has fallen like a house of cards. While in conversation on ESPN, ‘DC’ stated that after the news came forward, he tried to reach out to many people asking for a reason why the conference was canceled but according to him none of them had any idea of what was happening.

“To me, it feels like this is a big deal. I have reached out to many in the organization to try and find out what happened, and when everyone is as tight-lipped as they are right now, to me that tells me it’s a little worrisome,” said Cormier. ‘DC’ believes that the reluctance of any official for this cancellation has some eerie feeling to it.
