We might be getting a mega fight in August soon as per reports from Jiri Prochazka! He recently competed in the prelim at UFC 300 and stopped Aleksandar Rakić in the 2nd round after a difficult first round. This was his first win after losing to Alex Pereira in the light heavyweight title fight at UFC 295. The 30-4-1 fighter is confident about his combat skills and just might get a chance to test them against Pereira next.

Alex Pereira has been finishing his opponents left, right, and center. He did the same to Jamahal Hill in the first round of their fight at UFC 300. So, Pereira has already defeated both these opponents but Prochazka declared that he had a staph infection leading up to his UFC 295 fight which caused a hindrance. This time he promises a better performance if he gets a rematch. Lo and behold, he might be getting one soon as per reports!

Jiri Prochazka declared his rematch with Alex Pereira according to a new update from Championship Rounds. The caption read, “Jiri Prochazka says he’s signed a fight and is waiting for the UFC to announce it.” Rumor has it that the fight might happen in August so we do not have much time left!

As for now, Prochazka is training rigorously and with different unique methods. His bizarre methods of training not only include meditating under a waterfall but also rubbing poison ivy on himself to practice endurance! On top of that Jamahal Hill also came into the mix and previously noted that ‘Czech Samurai’ would have to use all his skills to fight ‘Poatan’.

Pereira initially wanted to make a quick turnaround after the UFC 300 win but that did not come to fruition. Now, there are reports that he could again be fighting Prochazka for the 205-pound division’s belt. Pereira too, spilled his ideas about the next fight to MMA reporter Aaron Bronsteter and he is on the same lines as his previous opponent.

Prochazka had returned to UFC 295 after one whole year of getting rest due to a shoulder injury. Unfortunately the Brazilian claimed the title that the former did not lose and had to give up due to injury. And now as per Dana White’s wishes, there might be a fight between the two again. The exact date of the bout is still not known but it might be in August.

Pereira and Prochazka are both training hard for the next fight so let’s see what is in store for us. Do you think that the fight is going to happen in August? Who are you counting on to become the next champ?
