One of the biggest events of the year, UFC 303, is just around the corner, and the fans are super excited to witness it. The chief attraction of the event is the return of Conor McGregor after he dipped out of the limelight for three years. The fight takes place in the 170-pound division against one of his biggest rivals, Michael Chandler. However, it seems that the MMA faithful may have to deal with some agony if we follow the latest trend.

In a recent development of events, the latest UFC 303 press conference in Dublin on June 3 had to be postponed for some unknown reason. The entire MMA world expressed their shock after the event’s cancellation. However, much to the delight of the fans, McGregor issued a statement on X to clear the air. The 35-year-old tweeted, “In consultation with the UFC, today’s press conference was canceled due to a series of obstacles outside of our control.” Most fans have expressed their concern about the event going ahead as planned. Speculation continues to reach a fever pitch on the reason behind the press conference’s cancellation.

McGregor’s opponent, Chandler, also took to his X account and shared a message for the fans. ‘Iron’ wrote, “If you are looking for me, I’ll be out in Tennessee. No way out of life we choose. Walk on,”. With the cancellation of his press conference, is the fight in danger? Well, a recent post by Championship Rounds might just delight the fans. The post read, “Alexander Volkanovski shares videos of him stepping in on short notice to fight at #UFC303”.

Most of the fans enjoyed the video and seemed excited about the clash. However, they did take the time to share concerns about the former champions willing to return at UFC 303.

Fans share their honest opinion about Alexander Volkanovski and predict doom if he takes up the fight

Former featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski is one of the greatest fighters in the promotion. However, he faced a dismal loss in his last outing at UFC 298 where he lost his coveted belt. It now seems that he wants to step in at UFC 303 after McGregor’s injury rumors and press conference cancellation came to light. Volkanovski had garnered a reputation for accepting short-notice fights after he stepped in to face Islam Makhachev when Charles Oliviera was out of commission. However, that outing didn’t fare well for him. Nevertheless, UFC fans took notice of the video shared by the Australian star and shared their opinion on the matter.

Volkanovski has lost his last two fights via knockout, and one of the users wants the former champion to get back to full fitness before returning to the Octagon.

Volk has a habit of taking fights on short notices which was pretty evident in his last outing as well and it seems that the 35-year-old wants to fight more often. The Australian has outlined a rematch with Ilia Topuria on the horizon but it seems like the former featherweight champion doesn’t want to wait too long.

One fan commented that this matchup offers a different dimension for Volkanovski, as it emerges as a favorable matchup for him to face Michael Chandler. Perhaps a win against the famed lightweight star could rekindle hopes of a title shot at 155 or a shot at the BMF belt.

Most users expressed their concern about his health. A quick turnaround time hurt him in his last outing and they think the Australian needs to learn a lesson from it. The fan suggested his team should have a heart-to-heart conversation with him in order to avoid further misery.

The UFC 303 event is scheduled to take place on June 29 and the 35-year-old was last seen at UFC 298 and it seems he should be taking a bit more time to recover before entering the Octagon.
