Paddy Pimblett has been on the rise lately. Ever since he entered the top 15 list, he has been aiming to fight the elite-level lightweights. And a fight against Michael Chandler on UFC’s return to London would be the key for ‘The Baddy’ to rise even higher. But is it really going to happen? Well, some MMA reporters certainly believe so.

Taking to X, Reuben Carter, a reporter who claims to have worked with Yahoo Sports and CBS Network, dropped a massive tweet. He wrote, “BREAKING NEWS- Paddy Pimblett vs Michael Chandler is officially signed for #UFCLondon” Chandler currently ranks at the 7th position in the lightweight rankings, while Pimblett has secured the 13th spot following his submission win over Bobby Green

Well, the MMA realm was pretty excited with what Pimblett had to say recently. A YouTube video has been going viral on the internet wherein Pimblett can be seen targeting a top 10 fighter. The Brit said, “Nice end to the year, to be honest. I’m in good shape, about 84-85 kilos. People have been speculating who I am fighting and this and that. I’m coming for that belt, so I’m looking for higher-ranked fighters. And I’m sure you’ll see a fight announcement soon enough. I have said yeah, the opponent has said yeah. Just need to get stuff signed. And I’ll see you at the top”

What’s your perspective on:

Can Paddy Pimblett handle Michael Chandler's resilience, or is he biting off more than he can chew?

Have an interesting take?

Chandler has just lost his bout against Charles Oliveira at UFC 309. He was initially set to fight Conor McGregor upon his return, but things didn’t really turn out as he had planned. But when it came to his next fight, the former Bellator lightweight champion was up for a fight against the British fighter. He said, “Paddy versus myself is gonna happen at some point, I’m not sure when but that’s a fight that interests me. It’s a fight that would be fun for the fans… It will definitely happen… That would be absolutely huge.”

However, Chandler was still hung up on the ‘Mystic Mac’. He claimed that if McGregor doesn’t return to the UFC by the first half of 2025, he’d take up a bout against someone else. But the Irishman is already in the discussion to fight Jake Paul in India in the first half of 2025. He claimed that he would return after his fight against the YouTuber-turned-professional boxer. On top of that, Dana White also confirmed that if ‘The Notorious’ would return to the Octagon, it would be sometime around the end of the upcoming year.

Needless to say, we can expect Chandler to actually go up against Pimblett in a massive fight. And if that happens, it’d be the toughest fight for the Britisher. The ‘Iron’ has a resilience that not many fighters in the UFC have. On top of that, his striking and grappling are also impeccable. Even though he lost his bout against Oliveira, he ensured that he defended every single submission attempt from ‘Do Bronx’. This was nothing short of a commendable achievement. But we still have to wait for the UFC to officiate the rumors.
