Michael Chandler often signs off his messages with “See you at the top.” But the question over the last few hours was who would meet him at the top. Until the cancellation of the original UFC 303 main event, it would have been Conor McGregor. Now, that matchup has seen some whirlwind shifting the scenes with Max Holloway getting dragged in.

After a recent spat on X, Chandler surprisingly pulled McGregor’s own move on the Irishman, saying that the December plans for UFC 310 were off. He insulted McGregor, essentially calling him a has-been who was struggling to come to terms with the fact. In response, McGregor just turned his attention to Holloway.

Well, is McGregor vs. Holloway a possibility for the final PPV of the year? Not really. Why? Because this is all just mind games at best. ‘Iron’ latest comments prove them just well enough. ‘Iron’ has dropped another update, which is pretty mysterious and cryptic, but it does give a hint that he might be coming back soon!

He recently uploaded two pictures of himself inside the Octagon giving a post-fight interview, and he looks like he is screaming for victory in the picture. ‘Iron’ captioned the post, “Can’t wait to feel that way again. Stay tuned. Walk On. See you at the top!” He told the fans to stay tuned, which could mean that there is big news coming up.

This new update with the cryptic hint proves that he is moving on with his career. However, it also contradicted his previous statement where he had declared that his fight with Conor McGregor was not going to happen this year. Chandler was responding to McGregor’s criticism of Khabib Nurmagomedov after Donald Trump chose the Dagestani fighter as his favorite. The Missouri resident criticized him for withdrawing from UFC 303, and McGregor did not stay silent.

Interestingly, after the assassination attempt on Trump, McGregor and Chandler found common ground in supporting him. At the time, McGregor had said on X, “I talked to Dana today about our new date, all looking good! 24’ for sure.” So it’s ironic that Trump could be the reason for the potential sidelining of this bout.

On top of that, McGregor has had his eyes on Max Holloway since he won the BMF belt. Chandler, however, commented that Holloway would not fight McGregor because he was waiting for UFC gold. Even Ariel Helwani said on X/Twitter that McGregor and Chandler might headline UFC 310 in December.

Meanwhile, Chandler had also posted a new update on X where there is a fan-made poster of the duo and UFC 310 is written on it. He even captioned it saying, “December to remember?”  Chandler gave these cryptic hints of fighting McGregor in December, but they contradict his recent messages so let’s take a look at that.

The frustrating wait for Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler continues

In a post through X Chandler, he said, “Never mind guys… I think it’s time I finally admit the fight is off. He’s still in stage 2 of the 7 of grief about his career being over. Figured he’d be closer to 5 by now. Godspeed @TheNotoriousMMA”

The Irish mixed martial artist did not stay silent and replied with the information that he would be coming back against Max Holloway. ‘Mystic Mac’ is already practicing his sparring and executing his left hook, which he showed on social media.

He also uploaded a sparring video on X, which got a comment from Sean O’Malley. ‘Suga’ commented that the moves were “slow and sloppy.”  Immediately, McGregor stated, “Throw the same shot and let’s see your version, lad. That would unalive a motherf***** for real, that shot. It’s nice work; cheer up! It’s not a bop, bop. It’s a BOP! BOP! Ye get me? 18oz gloves.” McGregor even hinted at a December comeback while replying to a fan on X as well.

However, the main question remains: who is going to be Chandler’s opponent? Well, we have to wait for some time to see what happens.
