Spinning Backfist recently shared a screen recording of a chat with Jon Jones. Therein, a guy named Will was talking to the HW champ. The chat began with Jones writing, “Ok, what if I’m filthy rich and literally own not one but two small mansions in the same town. What does that make me curious?!”

But then Will seemed to attack Jones for ducking the fight against the interim heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall. He asked ‘Bones’ to opt for retirement after his fight with ‘The Silencer’. However, the UFC double champ seemingly had a reply ready for it. And it contained the number he’d receive for defeating Miocic. Jones texted, “I’ve already agreed to make $15 million my next fight… hell yah bro, I’m about to beat up this old man. Ant right off into the sunset. Hope you enjoy watching Will.”

Without a doubt, Jones has kept the ‘Honey Badger’ hanging, after confirming the date and venue for the bout against Miocic. Taking to X, he has also responded to the internet trolls asking him to retire.

Taking to X, Jones responded, “I’m definitely not retired. Sitting on my porch sore all over enjoying some time in the Metaverse. November 9 can’t come soon enough. I’m earning it every day. Just like I always have.” Therein, the mixed martial artist also provided the date for his fight, thereby keeping the fight with Aspinall on hold.

The confirmation hit the social media platform right after Dana White announced the card for UFC 304, wherein Aspinall is pitted against Curtis Blaydes. Whoever wins the fight will claim the number one spot in the UFC HW rankings and have a shot at the title. In other words, Aspinall would get to fight Jones, if both of them won in their next fights.

Do you think Jones would ever fight Aspinall? If they do face each other in the Octagon, who do you think would emerge victorious? Let us know in the comments down below.
