Michael Chandler doesn’t pass up any opportunity to take shots at Conor McGregor. You would do the same if you were jerked around for two years to fight a guy and the bout never materialized and ultimately made a fool of you in front of the entire MMA community. The Irishman was on stage at a press conference promoting the upcoming April BKFC Italy card, where he channeled some of the old McGregor to make a rousing promise.
“If you think I’m up here giving these speeches and leading these men into battle and I won’t step in there myself, think again. For sure Conor McGregor will fight in Bareknuckle Fighting Championship. Mark my words,” McGregor declared.
And while many may have been moved by the Dubliner’s declaration, Chandler couldn’t help but make fun of it. “A “side job” of sorts….,” ‘Iron’ wrote on X, referencing McGregor’s recent comments where he chewed out Jake and Logan Paul to their face at the Trump inauguration.

“Here’s the deal, I’ll slap the two you’s and KSI. You’s are nixers to me, you understand that? Side jobs. A little side job, yeah?” a pumped-up McGregor told the Paul brothers as the siblings laughed in his face. But on a more serious note, it makes all the sense in the world for McGregor to fight at the BKFC. However, there is just one huge problem in this plan.
Why Conor McGregor wants to fight at the BKFC and what is stopping him?
Conor McGregor has said many times that he will fight in the BKFC. Even David Feldman, President of the fledgling promotion is convinced he will. “Yeah, [McGregor] wants it [to fight in the BKFC]. He says, ‘I have two fights left, and then we’re gonna do it. I’m definitely fighting here.’ He says it all the time,” Feldman told Ariel Helwani in a recent interview.

And that certainly would be a good idea. After all, McGregor owns equity in the BKFC. Which means that it is in his financial interest that the value of BKFC shares increase. What better way to make that happen than have one of the biggest superstars in the history of combat sports fight in the bare-knuckle promotion?
What’s your perspective on:
Is McGregor's promise to fight in BKFC just another publicity stunt, or will he deliver?

But on the other hand, McGregor has a huge, Dana White-sized albatross on his neck, which stands between him and the BKFC ring. McGregor, of course, is still under contract with the UFC and has two fights left on his current contract. And unless he fights out that contract or finds a way to get out of it, McGregor can make all the rousing declarations about fighting in the BKFC. But they will mean naught. What do you think about Michael Chandler’s glib jibe at Conor McGregor?
