Khabib Nurmagomedov has never trash-talked in his life. Everything he has said to his opponents, no matter how threatening or bombastic, ‘The Eagle’ considers ‘truth talk.’ Simply because he comes through on all of the threats he issued to his opponents.
This, of course, includes his famous “I’m gonna smash your boy” barb directed at Conor McGregor fans prior to their UFC 229 clash, and the meme-worthy “send me location” threat to the Irishman himself. But perhaps none of Khabib’s ‘truth-talk’ comes close to the caustic remarks he directed at Dana White mid-fight during his UFC 205 clash against Michael Johnson.
And thanks to the UFC releasing a no-commentary version of that clash, we know exactly what the former lightweight champ said to Dana White between the rounds. “Dana, you wanna talk a little bit,” Khabib tells bewildered UFC CEO, who in turn responds with “What do you wanna talk about?”

While ‘The Eagle’ doesn’t answer the boss right away, he comes back after the next round ends and unloads a dire warning directed at the (then) apple of White’s eye- Conor McGregor.
“Hey! Be careful. I’m gonna smash your boy [Conor McGregor]. Win or lose, I know who I am. Don’t send a fake contract,” Khabib thundered. Of course, all of this eventually led to the Dagestani fighting the bombastic Irishman in the most successful fight in the history of MMA.
The UFC just dropped footage of Khabib talking to Dana White in between rounds 😭

And to be fair, Khabib wasn’t lying and indeed did ‘smash’ McGregor on their UFC 229 clash, when the former two-division champion was at the height of his powers. And so bad did Khabib beat McGregor, that since then, the Irishman’s career has been on a steep downward trend.

Many feel this is because ‘The Eagle’ not only beat the Dubliner, but also broke his spirit. But even Khabib must feel bad for what has become of McGregor.

Conor McGregor’s career has gone down the drain since Khabib Nurmagomedov loss
It’s hard to believe how far Conor McGregor has fallen since that explosive, record-breaking clash against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 six years ago. Once the most dominant, electrifying figure in the sport, the Irishman’s career has since unraveled dramatically. Since that infamous loss, McGregor has only fought four times and walked away victorious just once. The aura that once surrounded him has dimmed, and the “Notorious” has struggled to regain his footing.
To make matters worse, McGregor’s devastating leg injury in 2021 has kept him out of the octagon for nearly two years. His long-awaited return was set to come against rival and ‘TUF 31’ coach Michael Chandler earlier this year, reigniting the excitement of fans everywhere. But, yet again, fate dealt McGregor another blow, sidelining him with yet another injury.

Adding salt to the wound, Chandler has now seemingly moved on, accepting a rematch with Charles Oliveira later this year, leaving McGregor’s comeback hopes in question. At a recent press conference, McGregor appeared deflated, admitting he was “out of the loop” on Chandler’s decision to move forward without him. It’s a heartbreaking fall from grace for a man who once dominated headlines as the biggest star the UFC had ever seen.
So where does McGregor go from here? Desperate to fight, but with opportunities slipping through his fingers, his future remains more uncertain than ever. Can the brash Dubliner reignite his career, or are we witnessing the final act of one of MMA’s greatest showmen? What do you think about Conor McGregor’s comeback chances?
