UFC 274 is shaping up to be a tremendous event. It already has two title fights scheduled and the promotion just added a women’s strawweight fight to the card.
The UFC just had their first pay-per-view of 2022, UFC 270, and it produced some excellent fights. The promotion will look to keep the momentum going and would want to put together excellent events throughout the year. One of the events that will take place this year is UFC 274. It is scheduled for May 7, 2022, and a fight just got added to it.
UFC record-maker Lupita Godinez will take on Ariane Carnelossi in a women’s strawweight clash. Godinez is a rising star in the sport and made her UFC debut in 2021. She came into the UFC on the back of a 5-0 record and is 2-2 since then. However, she fought four times last year and made two records in the process. ‘Loopy’ had her second fight in the promotion on October 9, 2021. After getting a win in that fight, she made the quickest turnaround between UFC bouts in the modern era and fought against on October 16. That too in a different weight-class.

Her opponent, Carnelossi, is more experienced than her and is currently on a two-fight win streak. ‘Sorisso’ is currently 14-2 in her career and has the power to knock out her opponents. Out of her 14 wins, nine have come via T/KO, and she will look to get another win in order to fight top contenders.
UFC 274 is not happening in Rio de Janeiro
The initial plan of the UFC was to have UFC 274 in Brazil. However, that is not going to be the case anymore.
The reason for the change is not yet known, and the UFC is yet to make an official announcement regarding the change. It was MMA journalist, Igor Melotto, who broke the news on Twitter. He wrote, “Canceled: UFC 274, scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro, is changing locations.”
