‘The Eagle’ Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from MMA action on his own terms. The Dagestan-born fighter competed with the utmost grace throughout his career. He hung up his gloves as an undefeated (29-0) longest-reigning UFC lightweight champion.
Besides having an illustrious MMA career, Nurmagomedov, outside the octagon, also made good relationships with fellow athletes. One such athlete is none other than the UFC veteran, Jim Miller.

‘The Eagle’ recently graced the UFC Apex with his presence at UFC Vegas 48, where Jim Miller claimed a spectacular second-round TKO victory over Nikolas Motta. Furthermore, Miller is now tied with Donald Cerrone for having the most victories in UFC history after this magnificent performance.
Following his dominating triumph, the UFC veteran talked about his interaction with his friend in former lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov.
In the UFC Vegas 48 post-fight press conference, Miller said, “He showed his appreciation to me. And he gave me a hug, you know. We’ve known each other for a while. When he first came over, and he was making his debut, he came and trained at AMA for a bit. You know, we got a couple of sessions in together.”
Moreover, Miller also interacted with ‘The Eagle’ in his ‘Crummy Russian,’ where the Dagestan-born fighter actually liked his accent. Also, the veteran fighter added he was happy with the way ‘The Eagle’ stepped away from the sport.
Then, he talked about his prior retirement consideration and said, “You know, like I, you know, talked about it in the lead-up. You know, like I made the decision in 2016 to retire at UFC 200. And here the f**k I am. Still banging myself up.”
Lastly, about Nurmagomedov, he concluded, “Yeah, yeah we’re buddies, the short answer too long didn’t read. Yeah, you know, so yeah it’s, he’s a cool dude.”
