Dana White will not be happy with the latest UFC pound-for-pound rankings. After winning his UFC 303 rematch against Jiri Prochazka, UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has been listed #2 on the UFC men’s P4P rankings. 155-pound champ Islam Makhachev continues to be on top, but heavyweight champion Jon Jones has slipped from the second position to the third.
UFC CEO Dana White, of course, had come out strongly against Jones not being the P4P king a few months ago, claiming that anyone who had put the Dagestani champ over ‘Bones’ should not have anything to do with deciding fighters’ rankings. However, the latest rankings not only don’t have the GOAT contender on top but have put Jones below Alex Pereira, who successfully defended his 205-pound title for the second time last weekend.
Like Jones, ‘Poatan’ is also a two-division champion, having left the middleweight division after losing the title to Israel Adesanya at their UFC 287 rematch. Jones, on the other hand, had moved up to heavyweight last year and defeated Ciryl Gane to win the vacant 270-pound title.

This elevated him to the top spot on the P4P ratings briefly, but he was dethroned by Makhachev after the Dagestani’s UFC 294 victory over Alexander Volkanovski last October. And now, Jones has fallen to the third position, in part because he hasn’t fought for over a year because of injury. And it seems like Pereira may be on his way to being on the top of the P4P rankings if the UFC lets him move up yet again and he wins at the UFC’s heaviest division.
Bisping suggests Aspinall call out Alex Pereira after Dana White’s reluctance
Alex Pereira has managed to become a two-division champion in the UFC in only seven fights in the world’s toughest, most competitive MMA promotion. And now, he is determined to make history yet again and try to become the UFC’s first three-division champion. Reiterating his desire to move up to the UFC’s heaviest division after UFC 303, despite Dana White’s continued reluctance, ‘Poatan’ has the support of almost all the UFC world in his desire to do so.

Since the UFC CEO seems against the Brazilian moving up to 270, Michael Bisping thinks the fighters should take matters into their own hands. Bisping, on his official YouTube channel, called on interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall to call out ‘Poatan’. The Englishman, of course, is scheduled to face Curtis ‘Razor’ Blaydes in the co-main event of UFC 304 on July 27, and Bisping has suggested the interim champ challenge Pereira for his title if he wins at the Manchester card.
If Pereira could defeat Aspinall, or any other top heavyweight for that matter, it is almost guaranteed that he will be ranked at the top of the UFC men’s P4P rankings. Do you want the Brazilian fighter to defeat Islam Makhachav in the p4p rankings? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
